Links to specific pages are provided above. Who interprets the results of your imaging examinations? All of the procedures or examinations performed at our facility are viewed and interpreted by a radiologist. A radiologist is a physician trained and experienced in reviewing and interpreting diagnostic images. He/she will analyze the images, describe any abnormalities, and suggest a possible diagnosis. The radiologist(s) involved in this assessment will then create a written report of your procedure or examination that will be transmitted to your referring physician. A copy of this report is also kept in our filing system. Sometimes imaging reports are created by radiology residents in training. All of their work, including procedure performance, image review and interpretation, and report synthesis is supervised and approved by a fully qualified radiologist. In some instances, one or more of our radiologists may review your examination during the process of acquiring a second opinion to ensure that you receive the best assessment possible. For example, it is our standard practice to have at least two radiologists review the mammographic images performed at our clinic as a method of improving the detection of abnormalities and improving quality of care. How can I get the results of my examination? The results of your examinations will be sent to your referring physician, and any other individuals your physician has asked copies be sent to. This is done ask quickly as possible and usually takes place via facsimile (fax). Reporting protocols for some selected procedures is provided below.
